Instagram Update: Allows Users to Post Videos up to 60 seconds

Instagram  users can now publish videos that last up to 60 seconds, before today it was only possible videos up to 15 seconds. This new feature extension, following the latest update on iOS and Android will be available to all users within the next coming months.  This new user feature occurs on the context where around two months ago, Instagram  had extended the video length capability for its advertisers up to one-minute long.  “ We want to bring you fun, flexible and creative ways to create and watch video on Instagram,” the company announced on a post . Following recent marketing studies it was found that the average duration of a top Facebook video is around 1.5 minutes. A new mobile app has launched called Instafeed , which allows users to custom build feeds based on their selective interests from the Instagram home page. Instafeed iOS app  is free download, that ties directly into Instagram and as a result it further reinforces Instagram API as a platform for developers to build extra custom features which in turn makes the platform even more popular. Tagging Photos Now Possible for Instagram Users

Good news for Instagram users, as a new capability is now available called  Instagram photo tagging , and it follows on the popular feature already present on Facebook .  The new capability is now present on the new version of Instagram app available on  iOS and Android . The way it works is that users are able to tag photos of any person or brand, and as a result photos will display the tags under "Photos Of You” section of users profiles.  It is quite to similar in comparison to the way it works on Facebook, as it follows that users notifications are sent to anyone that is tagged where permissions are requested before publications show a user tag, as standard. Instagram Users To Have Web Public Profiles

It seems that due to user demand, the fourteen-person team which make Instagram have decided to provide its users with a new web public presence. An preview example can be seen on Alexia , this new feature will be available to all users within the next few weeks and will be viewable publicly by going to the domain instagram.com followed by a slash with the users username. The new web profile for instagram users will have limited functionality at this stage it will include the capability to Like and Comment on users photos, furthermore users will also be able browse photos. Facebook and Instagram Approved by UK Office Fair Trading

Facebook receives approval from UK  Office of Fair Trading  for its purchase of Instagram. The news were published on a  RNS regulatory statement . It was stated: “We examined this in light of them both offering social networking services, looking at potential competition in social networking services, and in the supply of photo apps and whether the merger might result in the merging parties limiting people from others using other apps or other sites,” he said. “In brief we concluded that there are several relatively strong competitors to Instgram which appear to pose a stronger constraint to Instagram than Facebook does.” This news is quite relevant to Facebook business strategy as the main purpose of this requested approval and review, provides independent information and conclusions in terms of competition  concerns to anyone. Feel Free to add your comments to this post, thank you.
