Google Maps Now Incorporates Elevation Data Planning For Steep Hills

Google Maps Now Includes Elevation Data with Routes Planning.

The new elevation profiles are available in the 14 countries that it offers biking directions. Including Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Great Britain, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Sweden and the US, on the desktop version.

When a user chooses biking directions it will be available an elevation profile. It will be displayed to a user a graphical representation of elevation data for each route, with a new card also showing the user the total number of metres that it will have to climb on their route planning.

The only exception where these new profile elevation data will not be displayed is in the cases where user routes are essentially flat.
