Twitter Search Improvements, Contextual



On the 1st May 2012 it was announced here that twitter had introduced a new personalized discovery feature which can be simple for users. As a result, when stories are seen in Discover mode are presented in such a manner that will interest the particular user based on his activity patterns, Furthermore, when the user clicks on “view tweets” it can be seen popular tweets from the user network. A further improvement, is that now relevant tweets are displayed directly below the story summary. 


Discover tab allows for users to discover information based on relevant interests customised to each user without the need to follow additional twitter users. additionally this customisation can be personalised by the user. 


The way it works is that twitter finds URLs shared by a user immediate group of followers which in turn  converts them into stories, ranked by tweets and relationships.
